Officer Elections
- Non-president officers can be re-elected each year.
- President has a 2-year term (cannot be re-elected).
- Past President remains as member of council for 1 year.
- President-elect is voted 1 year in advance (can be anyone including the current Vice-President).
It was proposed to allow Boris Martinac to stand for the next 2 years (President is currently ineligible for re-election under the constitution, but the council could propose this rule only starts after the 2021 AGM as it is the year of incorporation). Council agreed by affirmation.
Constitution Amendments
Amendments proposed by Maté Biro:
- "Association" changed to "Society".
- Change to how to become a member — ratified by one member of the council to reduce processing time.
- Kate Poole to prepare form emails for approval and acceptance of new members.
- Kate Poole to keep list of members and work with Daryan Kempe on how this will be presented.
- Language regarding chairing meetings to be adjusted.
Membership Fee Structure
Proposed fees:
- Student: $25 (1 year), $75 (3 years)
- Full member: $100 (1 year), $250 (3 years)
State and NZ Representatives
Deferred until next year. Can add up to 3 additional representatives. Proposed to remove time limits for state reps.
Special representatives proposed: EDI, ECR.
Other Items
- Adoption of logo of the Society — to be discussed.
- Special recognition award — to be discussed in the absence of one council member.
AGM Planning
- Communication to be sent out in advance.
- Nominations to be called for on the day; self-nominations are OK.
- Constitution to be ratified.
- All current council members are renominating — Boris for 2 years, all others for 1-year positions.
